How old were you when you first experienced irrational fear? That has yet to happen.
What was your first phobia? I’ve never had any irrational, debilitating fears.
Have you ever had a debilitating phobia? See above.
Have you known anyone who had a debilitating phobia? Probably.
Who has the strangest phobia that you know? An AIL has a cat phobia. Then again, all my in-laws are delusional.
Have you ever gotten over a phobia? Nope. I’ve never had any phobias. And if I do have a phobia or two, I don’t want to “get over” them. Because clowns and houseflies are pure evil and should be feared and avoided with extreme prejudice.
Are you currently phobic about anything? No. My extreme fear and avoidance of clowns and houseflies is completely logical.
Are phobias something we’re born with, or something we’re taught? I’d say it’s taught via environment (person to person behavior modeling or experiential conditioning) in 99% of cases.
Can phobias serve any useful purpose? I’d say yes. Fear of heights could keep one from falling off a cliff, for example.
Has a phobia ever stopped you from doing something? Nope. No phobias here.
If you had to take on a severe, incurable phobia, which one would you choose? Hmm… I would choose a phobia of leaving a review on iTunes. That would work out fairly well for me because I don’t leave reviews on iTunes anyway because no matter how many times I try to to get into the review-leaving portal of iTunes, it just won’t let me! ARGH! So either that one or aphobiaphobia. Which would be a fear of not having a phobia, which I wouldn’t have to really deal with, because THAT would be my phobia. Sweet! 🙂
